Nature and Science Museum

It’s Thanksgiving, and we’re sitting in the airport waiting for our flight to Dallas. We’re spending the weekend with Matt & Erin & Evie, so we’re excited because we rarely get to see them. However, we’ll have a week with Joel’s whole family next summer, so that should be fun. Anyway, while I’m here taking advantage of the free airport wi-fi, I thought I should fill everyone in about our lovely museum visit.

Last Sunday, the Nature and Science Museum had a free day. We love the free days! I’m not sure if it’s true, but the guy there told us it’s one of only 5 of its kind in the country. They have lots of animal exhibits, and it was shocking to see how huge some of the animals are! Here’s a picture of the mountain goats we are hoping to see on a trail one day.

They also have an exhibit called Expedition Health. They give you a card to register, and then you put the card in various stations. It measures things about you, and then you get a print out at the end. It’s an interesting exhibit, but it’s not the best on a free day with big lines. Here’s a picture of Joel pedaling his heart out at the bike station.

Finally, the museum has an amazing view of the city and the mountains. It’s on the edge of City Park, so the view is City Park, then downtown, then the mountains. I wish the pictures could convey how great the view actually is.

  1. You guys have already done so much more than we have since we moved out west! I can’t wait to stop by and see you guys in Denver. I know it must be beautiful, because Salt Lake City is beautiful, but I have yet to take shot that does it justice.
